Lined, grid, dot grid, graph paper or a soft grain, with a wash of colour underneath if you want one.

04Moving in

Bring your notes with you.

Notion, Google Keep, Apple Notes, Word, HTML or plain Markdown. Point Notealise at what you exported and your notes come across.

They arrive in a space of their own, with a report of anything that didn’t come over cleanly. Nothing goes missing quietly.

Is it really free?

Yes. No trial and no subscription.

Is there a phone app?

No. It’s built for Windows, for Linux and for Macs, both Apple silicon and Intel.

Why does my computer warn me when I open it?

Notealise isn’t signed with a paid certificate yet, so Windows and macOS ask you to confirm the first time. That’s the only reason. Step-by-step guides for Windows and Mac.

Does it work offline?

Yes. It runs on your computer and only goes online to check for updates, or to fetch an extra font if you pick one. Everything it connects to.

Can I use it on two computers?

There’s no built-in sync. Keep your notes folder in OneDrive, Dropbox or iCloud Drive (on Linux, Dropbox) and open it on each computer, Windows, Mac or Linux. Just don’t edit the same note on both at once.

Will my notes open in Obsidian or VS Code?

Yes. They’re ordinary Markdown files, so other apps can open the same folder. A few extras, like coloured text, can look plainer there.
